Numbers and the Big Dream of Mr Sunders
Review by apps79 During the recordings of ''Interdead'' Ryszard Kramarski came up with the idea of his next concept album: combining the central heroes of the ''Vocanda'' and ''Interdead'' stories into a new concept. The main figure of the album would be John Sunders, who won a large amount of money choosing the right numbers, but this way starts his trip towards his long adventures.Ten months of recordings at the Lynx Studios, between August 05' and June 06', would lead to the release of ''Numbers and the big dream of Mr. Sunders'' in September 2006. In this album Millenium finally procude a semi-personal style of Neo Prog, led by their fantastic singer. The work is again heavily driven by the lyrical concept, however the sound is more balanced, eventually with enough room for some pretty good instrumental textures and a great changes between sensitive arrangements and more pompous breaks.Surprisingly, except SATELLITE, which have been one of the band's dominant inspirations, the new album contains also big time IQ influences in the alternating melodic/symphonic and more grandiose passages. The musicianship is full of decent and, most important, memorable melodies and the keyboard work finally is on the surface with some lovely semi-symphonic themes in the vein of COLLAGE, while the guitars are once more used with care, delivering series of interesting solos.A couple of ballads and some mellow pieces help the concept unfold with comfort and the sufficient presence of grandiose and powerful moments result a work of musical diversity in sights and sounds. The incosistency for the Polish Prog Rockers continues with their sixth studio album. This time though it is for good reason.Nice, melodious and atmospheric Neo Prog with plenty of interesting material.Recommended.
