Austin and Garf were a popular group in the Midwest in the 1970s, had a single that reached #8 on the charts, wrote and/or performed many radio & TV commercials, did in-store promotions, appeared as guests on many regional radio & TV programs and eventually had their own TV special produced, which was advertised in TV Guide. They opened for the Carpenters, went to the west coast for months at the request of a booking agency there (which handled George Santana and Bo Diddley) and opened for Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks at Basin Street West in San Francisco. After 46 years, the group is finally releasing the album they recorded but were unable to release in 1970, and is currently in the process of recording new material, which will be available on the AustinAndGarf and PerusePublishing web sites in March.
