Tough Boy, Rock Da Box
Captain Johnny Rush and the King Chinook Band All song selections were written by,capt johnny rush, with his original straight forward rock style steming from the 50's, 60's, and 80's rock era. The guitar, drum, and bass of the standard 3/4 rock progression intensely drives people to dance or guzzle beer. All lyrics are PG rated although they aim towards "man meets woman, woman meets man". Safe and sane and non-offensive lyrics. His rock and roll gravelly voice is similar to ACDC's vocal tones. When listening to his singing you can hear tones of Louis Armstrong and George T "Bad to the Bone". Other selections, such as "Trick Box Woman", can totally fool you because he sounds like Peter Frampton flowing through his air tube guitar. Rest of the selections vocal would be a cross between Paul McCartney, Bob Dillion, Bruce Springsteen, and Eric Clapton, but without the gravel. His song "Microwave Oven" is a play on words about a woman he loves who likes to cook in the kitchen, but she doesn't know how to cook and nukes everything. Johnny Rush was New York born, but raised in Portland, Oregon. His music education was backed by Oiginal Sund Recording studios, which is on Labra and Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles. Where he started in 1977 and took on site-training to learn to write and sing in the studio until 1983. His genius as a lyrisist was immediately picked up by the engineer of the studio and the producers which led him into producing a live recording of this album. The album was advertised 900 times on NBC and he appeared live at the Portland Paramount Theater and toured the entire west coast including Los Angeles at the Whiskey A Go-Go, the world's most famous rock and roll club, and was backed by the owner of the club who produced the cult favorite Rocky Horror Show, Lew Adler producer. Captain Johnny Rush also in his shows and on recordings does country music. The guitar player on the album is Stan Bush, who is a master at his rock and roll guitar craft.
