> “Circles In The Firing Line” is the mysterious focus track from Fever Dreams, and rails against the white noise of the contemporary moment with a soulful melodic loop. > Conor describes the track as “a delirious song that has become disconnected from reality and the material world of nature, human and beyond. (…) It is lashing out at the intellectual desolation of the internet age. It is fighting back with a kind of agnostic devotional curiosity and it will win. All is not lost!” > The songs on Fever Dreams were found in many places and came in from all angles, from connections at County Meath’s Another Love Story festival and night swimming on a Dutch island to Flann O’Brien, Audre Lorde, David Lynch, L. S. Lowry via the library music of Piero Umiliani and Alessandro Alessandroni and jazz from Duke Ellington and Alice Coltrane. Written over the course of two years, the main bodies of the songs were recorded in a series of full-band studio sessions in late 2019 and early 2020. Over the course of the long, slow pandemic days, O’Brien refined them in his tiny home studio in Dublin, and the album was then mixed by David Wrench (Frank Ocean, The xx, FKA Twigs). > The band are currently finalising promo with sessions, mixes and interviews all pending across the key daytime shows. > At press “Fever Dreams” was Mojo’s album of the month, and is awaiting further reviews in Uncut, Clash, DIY, Dork, Record Collector and more.
