King Of Calm EP
The Timewriter aka Jean F. Cochois is foremost a house music producer from the first moment and has has been releasing under various pseudonyms 12" and artist albums on labels as 8bit, Neurotrxx Deluxe, Plastic City, Mole Listening Pearls, Elektrolux and American labels such as Wave Music, Driftwood, and Fiji. For Moodmusic it is a special moment to have him finally featured on the label and he has delivered us a strong 4 track EP full of intense, soul- drenched house music with all the finesse from early US house production combined with German engineering. Phantom Swing opens the EP with a loopy vocal hook drilling the groove to a hypnotic journey of DX-7 bass and swirling pads. The title track takes a simple syncopated bassline and turns it into first class flight to deepness, perfect for any hour of your dancefloor. Square Dance is probably the most modern production of the bunch, pushing a tad more on the beats department, yet keeping it elegantly deep and hypnotic. Echo Welt closed the EP with a 5 AM stomper of swirling synths and a Chicago inspired bassline, whispering vocals and licks of effected keyboards.
