Ain't We Lucky (feat. ¡Mayday!) [Explicit]
Northern California M.C. Hunter Rapwell was born and raised in Oregon and spent his early years as an M.C. recording and performing with The Juice To Make It Happen, a hometown hip-hop group in Eugene, OR. It was there that Rapwell first became acquainted with fellow M.C. Spends Quality. In 2002, the two M.C.s recorded their first tracks together. That early collaboration would lay the groundwork for what would later become known as the Bay Area hip-hop group Sonicbloom. In 2003 Hunter Rapwell (formally known as the Omnipotent Penman) relocated to Northern California. Over the course of the next 8 years Rapwell would record three full length albums with Sonicbloom, earning the reputation of a truly innovative group of M.C.’s, Producers, musicians and singers. Gigging up and down the west coast, Rapwell has shared the stage with members of Project Blowed, The Living Legends, The Hieroglyphics, The Wu-Tang Clan, Quannum Projects, The Digable Planets, Brand Nubian, The Cuf, The Visionaries, and numerous other hip-hop icons. Rapwell’s first appearance as a solo artist was featured on Dub Raps Volume 1, mixed and recorded by Ricky Switch of Distant Relatives. In 2011, Rapwell’s debut solo single and music video “Swine Flu” dropped, preluding the release of his first solo album “Proper Grammar Free”.
