Singer, songwriter, India Carney shines as a gifted and versatile performing artist. Impressed with her vocal restraint and evenness of tone, India wowed celebrity judges and audiences as the former Top 5 Artist on NBC’s Emmy Award-winning "The Voice". MStars News reported Brooklyn native India Carney, "has a voice of gold". Given her diverse musical background, India writes to find the common-ground between all of the genres she loves and studies (opera, jazz, gospel, R&B, pop, musical theater), and incorporate it into the Pop music that she writes. Musical influences include: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Adele, Sam Smith, Coldplay, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, Jazmine Sullivan, Audra McDonald, and more. Pursuing her passion for music, India graduated with distinction from UCLA earning her BA in Music-Voice Performance and Music Industry Minor. She is a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts and YoungArts Winner in Voice and Theatre. NY Times Op-ed columnist David Brooks wrote, “Earlier this week I watched some young musicians perform Lady Gaga songs in front of Lady Gaga. As India Carney’s voice rose and swooped during the incredible anthemic versions of her dance hits, Gaga sat enraptured. Her eyes moistened. Occasionally her arms would fling up in amazement. Finally, she just stood up and cheered.” (Album Artwork: Jordan Allen Photography, NYC)
