Exploding out of Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1978, The Undertones produced a wealth of short, sharp pop-punk classics and four albums before splitting in 1983 - and then reforming 20 years later to the delight of old and new fans alike. This sumptuous audio-visual package, compiled by the group, features a CD of their finest tunes alongside an acclaimed 2003 documentary - in which legendary DJ John Peel makes a pilgrimage to Derry to meet the band behind his favorite pop record, Teenage Kicks - as well as all their promo videos and some vintage live footage filmed in the UK and France. Particularly notable is the Parisian performance, which hasnt been seen since its original broadcast in 1980, but all the live material demonstrates what a compelling and accomplished act these boys were, even though they were barely out of their teens.
