by Stephen Thomas ErlewineAlthough the cover looks like a 2Pac bootleg, Black Bossalini (A.K.A. Dr. Bomb From Da Bay) doesn't find Spice 1 changing his formula that much. There are a couple of Southern Californian flourishes here and there, but this is pretty much straight-ahead Bay Area hip-hop, highlighted by guest appearences from Ice-T, MC Breed and Mack 10. It isn't very different from his early albums, and it's a little disheartening to think that he hasn't progressed at all in ten years, but it's a solid record that should appeal to his legions of fans.
