As accompanist of Lied singers he got an international reputation, working together with Brigitte Faßbaender, Ingeborg Hallstein, Margret Price, Anneliese Rothenberger, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Peter Schreier, Hermann Prey, Nathan Milstein, Heinrich Schiff, the Juilliard String Quartett and other musicians.
