Katallasso is Greek for 'reconciliation'. Tom Braxton sparkles on all of the saxes, keyboards, piano, and production. This recording brings together Braxton with one of his best friends, Kirk Whalum, who composed and produced two tracks. Kirk also added his signature sound to Samba Sao along with Paul Jackson Jr, and a few other top LA session players. Joe Ninowski adds his production and writing skills as well on several tracks including Surrender, Katallasso, and The Way. While this project was in production Tom's first son was born and to coincide with that blessed event Braxton pinned Ian's Song. James Kings, Mary Sorenson, and Valerie Spell bring Stevie Wonder's classic Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing to life with lush background vocals wrapped around Tom's lyrical alto. Braxton and Paul Jackson duet on Sacramento, an uptempo groove that was inspired by all of the time Tom spent there while working with bass legend Wayman Tisdale. There is a Fountain is Braxton's take on the classic hymn that will have you on your feet clapping at the end! The CD comes to a close with Braxton seated at the acoustic piano on the rhapsodic piece Everlasting Life which he dedicated to his grandparents.
