Genres: Metal / Metalcore / Hard Rock James Donner-Guitar, Dustin Chavez-Guitar, Jesse Curtis-Bass, Dustin Strole-Vocals, Jason Dinwiddie-Drums Catalytic started in September of 2012, under a different name, when vocalist Dustin Strole and guitarist James Donner began looking for a drummer. In mid-September they found Jason Dinwiddie, who used to play for Eyes on Fire. They played with him for about a month and started posting in search for a 2nd guitarist. By mid-October Dustin Chavez had tried out for the band, known as Downfall of Darkness. James told him if he wanted the spot it was his. By November Chavez was now a member of Downfall of Darkness. By mid-November they found bassist Brent Miller. They decided to change the name from Downfall of Darkness to Born of Valor. Brent got them their first show set for December 21st. Brent quit the band a couple of weeks before the show on the 21st due to not liking the style of music. Their first show was a disaster, nothing went right. They decided to go back, continue to practice and write an entirely new set.    By February 2013, Jason said he knew a guy that wanted to jam on bass with us. By the end of February Josh Tienken was now a member of Born of Valor. As May started they had written a new set and we’re set to go into the studio to record their first demo. When June came along they had a 2 song demo for “Red Stained Plains” and “Believe” ,and again changed the name for the last time. Catalytic was born. July 15th was their first official show as Catalytic. We blazed through our first summer/fall playing 10 shows. After their 10th show of the year in November, they decided to let go of bassists Josh Tienken due to musical differences. By the mid-November Catalytic recorded one more demo song Saving This Day. By the end of November longtime friend of Dustin Chavez, Jesse Curtis, had wanted to play bass for Catalytic. He tried out and was set to play his first show December 28th.    In January of 2014 Catalytic was set to go into the studio to record their first album. They finished the album in March and are set to release The Voice of Reason on June 14th, 2014.
